Niall Ó Ceallacháin 14 May 2025 team report

Following last Saturday’s successful tip to Corrigan Park, Dublin Senior Hurlers now have three wins under their belt with six points in the bag as they face into this coming weekend’s game against Kilkenny.

Dublin Manager Niall Ó Ceallacháin gave us his reflections on the Antrim game and the game ahead. “We’re very pleased with last Saturday’s game”, said Niall, “It’s great to get the six points and it puts us in a good position. But we know that we face a significant challenge next weekend. We know we’re going to need to be a good bit better in lots of facets of the game than we were on Saturday. We know the areas that we need to improve on and we’ll be trying to target those areas this week.”

Acknowledging the challenge of the upcoming Kilkenny game, Niall said, “We are in doubt as to the challenge in front of us going down to Nowlan Park. But while the challenge is significant we are looking forward to it.”

Referring to the strength of the panel, Niall explained, “Over the course of the last few weeks and indeed over the next couple of weeks we have faith and trust in our players, the players that have been playing and the wider panel. We’ve used a lot of players and this coming weekend and the weekend after we know that we’re going to need our panel to really come through for us, not just for the 15 starting, but the five or six lads that come on and we feel we’re in a good position to do that.”

Once again Niall praised the level of support that the lads have been getting at games, “It was great to have the support last weekend from those who travelled up,” said Niall, “ There was a Dublin U15 development squad and a number of clubs who brought their juvenile teams with them. We look forward to having even more support in Nowlan park on Sunday as it means a lot to the lads.”
