Dublin Senior Hurling Team Report on 20th June 2025 with Niall Ó Ceallacháin

Reflecting on last weekend’s Preliminary Quarter Final win against Kildare, Dublin Senior Hurling manager Niall Ó Ceallacháin said, “After the Galway game we had been looking forward to that game, regardless of opposition. We felt we didn’t do ourselves full justice in the Galway game and we had three weeks to prepare and look forward to the preliminary quarter final”.

Niall continued, “It was a job that we needed to do and to make sure that we were in the last six for this coming weekend, that’s where we wanted to be and that’s where we’re at. So we’ve moved on now and  are looking forward to this weekend. The prize is significant, it’s a place in All-Ireland semi final on 6th July and that’s where we want to be”.

As to next Saturday’s game, Niall said, “We are very aware of the challenge in front of us. We know where Limerick are at and where they have been at and we have a huge amount of respect for them but we will be focussing on ourselves and what we can bring. We’re looking forward to this challenge, we feel we’re ready for the challenge and looking forward to having a big crowd behind us on Saturday evening in Croke Park”.

Regarding the Dublin performances to date, Niall said, “We would be pleased with some elements of our performances over the course of the Leinster Championship. There were periods and elements of our performances in some of the games that are going to need to be better this weekend, we’re fully aware of that. However we have a super group of players who have that openness and mindset to improve and we feel that we’ve learned from those mistakes and looking forward to bringing all that we can to Saturday’s key game”.

Niall continued, “We are really looking forward to Saturday and to having strong support in Croke Park. The lads really appreciate the big numbers that have come out in every game so far and have gotten behind the Dublin team, it means an awful lot to us”.
